Judging by the huge amounts of feedback I was one of the last to find this gem: Vicarious Redux by germaine_pet, a sad and poignant Angel/Spike story, NC-17, set after TGiQ.

Thanks for the rec. I hadn't read anything Angel or Buffy in a long while. But that was a wonderful journey back in time... Makes me remember why I still love the characters so much.
