I hope Tina enjoys the flute. My daughter just started playing flute this year, and she likes it more than the piano lessons she also takes. I think that's because she plays flute in school with a band class as well as her lessons at home. She's social, and likes music she can play with people rather than performing for them.
What she really wanted was to play percussion, starting with an instrument they call bells, which is like a small xylophone, then moving on to snare drum. While I am willing to listen to flute lessons, I didn't want to have to live with a drummer. *g* Flute was a compromise, but it's working out.
