Moving is so much fun

Remarkable Things I Unearthed While Packing our Stuff into Boxes:

Singles and LPs:
My very super special limited edition V for Vendetta record (just one song, if I remember correctly it was the musical rendition of one of the songs that appears in the comic: Vicious Cabaret...) a lovely 20 year old memento from the days when I worked for Quality Comics. Yay!
Lewis Collins - Take it Out on Time - *cringe*
Dennis Waterman - I could be so good for you - hee
35 year old albums of e.g. Ella Fitzgerald and other Jazz musicians (I wonder if they are worth something...)
Stabat Mater (classical music, originally written for castrates, I think...)
Several picture LPs by Marillion
My first single ever: El Condor Pasa (I must have heard it a zillion times, back then...)

Videos
Max Headroom the movie (makes me wonder if the series is available on DVD...)
Tina's first big cheerleader performance in the Braunschweig stadium waaay back...
My Alien Nation videos

I also found several of my favorite CDs which were languishing in a hard-to-reach shelf. The best ever music compilations sold were the FFN Nighline and the FFN Powerstation compilations. FFN is a local broadcasting station and in their hey-days, when they still played good music and had great comedians on the air, they released several compilations. Ace.

Miscellaneous
A short vacation diary I wrote for my mum when I was 12 and she was in hospital...

I really have to find better places for some of these items... So they don't get buried until the next time we move. ;-)

You could probably make a fortune on that Collins record. If nothing else, you could threaten to release it on an unsuspecting audience unless he pays you a hefty chunk of cash. LOL

How are you, sweets? Sorry I've been absent but it seemed like both of us have been up to our eyeballs in stuff. The new place sounds lovely, BTW, hope it's as comfy as it seems.

A fortune on a Collins record? I find that hard to believe. *g*
Anyway, I'm keeping it as proof of former follies. LOL.

Yeah, I've been absent from LJ too. Occasionally I take a gander, but I never scroll far...

And when I do have a bit more time to spend at the computer, I catch up with my shows or I evilly play Sutek's Grave at the neopets site. LJ is more sociable than I can currently handle, you know?

We have to chat again once I'm set up in the new place. :-)

Keep your fingers crossed that we don't drop the fish tank or old keepsakes... :-)

I will take pictures out of our windows once we're settled. :-)

Max Headroom the movie (makes me wonder if the series is available on DVD...)

Sadly, no. I keep checking, though, and hoping...

I did end up picking up a bootleg DVD of eBay, recorded from television when the series was rerun here in the US on TechTV a few years ago. I was kinda glad to find that, since my videotaped copies were done back when the show originally aired and are getting oooooold.

Ooh, you have them on disk? You lucky thing. I looove Max Headroom. It was such a clever show.
How much did you pay on eBay, if I may ask?

I'm days late commenting, but I wanted to say that "El Condor Pasa" was one of my favorite songs from an 8-track tape that my parents had when I was in school. I must have heard it a million times myself, it being one of the few that suited both my parents and me.
