kids

My kids used to be really nice to each other, with the occasional argument, but lately all they do is fight and my eldest keeps shouting at everybody, especially me. She can't accept criticism of any kind. *sigh* And the youngest lies about everything. She is so self-centered, she feels entitled to everything. She won't share anymore, never does anything we ask her to do, will only get dressed if I threaten to drag her to kindergarten in her nightgown, never tidies up,always cheats at board- or card games, always hits her elder sister, who then hits her back... This is driving me nuts. They are both sweet individually, but in tandem I find them really horrid. They used to get on so well, and they still have brief moments of fondness for each other, but this sibling rivalry is driving everybody insane.
And the shrill voices and the constant shouting? Make me want to gag them.

I feel your pain. I have a 15 year old here in the house, and she's at that age where *I* don't know *anything*, and she barks back at every comment I make and rolls her eyes and slams doors, etc., etc. Last night, she mumbled under her breath for her father to shut up, and I thought that was going to be the end of her short life. Her excuse is that she "can't control what comes out" of her mouth. Ah. Life. One big learning experience.

I think I'm going to tell her that I "can't control" the fact that she needs spending money. Or something. sigh.

Are we talking about the talented daughter who made that vid? She sounded nice on AIM and she's very proud of you. :-)

Mine are 5 and 7 - so I think it's a little early for puberty. :-(

Yes, that's exactly who we're talking about. She's so brilliant and talented and smart in many areas that sometimes I forget that she's still a child in other areas. Like, learning how to watch her mouth.
