Kingdom of Heaven

Kingdom of Heaven rocked!!! I loved it from beginning to end. *sighs happily* I never got the 'Orlando Bloom pretty' until today. He carried the film well. I liked the cinematography, the script, everything. I am pretty hard boiled when it comes to battle sequences, but this made me wince - which is good. Ridley Scott definitely ranks as one of my favorite directors. Much much better than Troy. Plus I liked the anti-religious lunacy message. Yes!

I really enjoyed it myself, it was entertaining. Not the best movie ever, for sure, but good! The soundtrack is wonderful, do get your hands on it if you can. Beautiful music.

Awesome! I'm glad someone else liked it too. I didn't adore it, but I didn't hate it the way most other people seem to.

I liked it, too - a lot. So much better than the failed Alexander and Troy. The one thing I didn't like, though, were the noticeable cuts. Sometimes the story jumped ahead pretty fast, which made me wonder. Initially I thought they were made to keep the pace, but later I read that the studio set a runtime limit of 150 minutes. Ridley Scott was forced to cut the movie down to 145 minutes for the theatrical release. Even he has to sacrifice artistic values to commercial considerations :-( Luckily the DVD release will have the full director's cut of 220 minutes. I am looking forward to it.
