writing... movies...
Apparently, I am unable to multi-task. Either I'm a reasonably prolific writer and a crappy mom, or I'm a good mom and good-ish hausfrau (*gag*) and a writer who doesn't write, or, during winter, I'm full time depressed and have to channel all my energy into not throttling anyone in a fit of temper.
Swell.
I have more or less resigned myself to not writing anymore. Maybe things will get better in September, when Toyah goes to school... I will still try to get my WIPs done, but I shall endeavour not to feel frustrated and angry when I don't find the time to work on them. I'll just assume by default that I won't have time write, and rejoice when an opportunity to write springs up unexpectedly. *tries to look determined and not too unhappy.* No use getting upset over things that I can't change anyway.
I visited my second hand dealer but he doesn't have the AtS S5 DVDs yet. I'd like to watch the 5th season again to see if it rekindles the writing groove (I still have a Spangel story that needs a rewrite - a switch from present tense to past tense, among other things, and a better insertion into canon), but I want to watch it with the audio comments on.
Bought The Incredibles and National Treasure instead (not so much 'bought' but swapped them for a few old playstation games).
Toyah bought herself Lilo & Stich (also 2nd hand). Does anyone know the sequel? Is it any good? Number 1 is ever so cute. I expected it to be dull - but was pleasantly surprised. Maybe I'll give the Disney Lama movie a try after all... or not. The trailer sucked. As did the one for the Cow movie... Have to admit that I prefer the Pixar movies to the stuff Disney's been churning out. Call me old-fashioned, but Disney should be cute, saccharine, and suitable for 6-year olds. They should leave fast editing and cartoon-y character design to other studios.

The Emperor's New Groove (is that the llama story you're referring to?) is very silly. Extremely silly. It doesn't resonate deeply as some of Disney's better offerings, but if you're in a mood for something extremely light-hearted, you may like it. My kids love it, but my family tends to love silliness.

TENG... well, maybe we'll rent it. I don't know anyone who actually bought it, even though many of our friends are Disney fans.
Personally, I'm not into silly. :-)
