I had 4 pineapple muffins for breakfast. Mmmmm. And eliade's latest S/X sketches. Mmmmmm.

I was talking to lordshiva on AIM this morning and she told me how jealous she is. ladycat777 said the same thing, a few days ago, so there's at least three of us wailing and moping. If lordshiva of Daemons Luminati fame is jealous too, it's actually strangely reassuring.

I hope eliade stays in the 'zone' for a long time. Last month she had a productive phase like that, where she wrote all kinds of snippets, weird pairings, even Spieke/Lorne. It lasted about a week. That was five weeks ago. Maybe it's hormonal? In which case... *raises hand* "Doctor, please, I can I have the same hormones?"

I have to get my passport renewed or get a new one. I should really do it today, but I feel chirpy and happy and want to start writing instead. *Dither*

I put my Fedcon into ebay and it went up to € 51 so far. I paid € 110 - so now I'm hoping I'll get a bit more...

There will be a new episode of Buffy this week. Yay! I just hope all the spoiler-hos will stay away from me. I am not in a mood for agonizing. Whatever ME do - some people will be upset. *shrug* Can't please'm all.

It's time for another peeve post

If this will make me unpopular, so be it. I have to vent. Please do not feel insulted. It's nothing personal. Whatever floats your boat, etc.

Hunging season is open. Here's a list of words and expressions that I'd rather shoot myself than use (although I may have used them in my younger days...)

* chocolate orbs traveling the angular planes of his face
* cerulean orbs
* velvety orbs

What is it with those orbs? The only orbs I like are real objects. And the chocolate. Chocolate eyes? a) read it so often that it makes me gag, b) has a horrible eating vibe which doesn't go well with eyeballs. Eeew.
'Cerulean' is a nice word, very pretty. So is 'blue.' But we do know that Spike's eyes are blue, so maybe just maybe we don't need to be told every second sentence. Same with the hair-color. Which means that constant use of 'the blonde' is just as out.

* Spike's soft hair - Oh please. After twenty years of bleaching? You wish.
(There is a brilliant story by Zero that deals with the fact that even Spike has his imperfections and is on some level just a guy)

* childe - noooooo please. As a real parent I find the vibe off-putting. Makes me think of small kids, not of sexy vampires. The whole concept of vicious killers turning into cuddly poppa-bears for their adored childe makes me cringe. (However I *do* see different emotional ties when the vamps are souled)

* sable hair - Ask me what Nicholas Brendan's haircolor is and I sure as hell won't say sable. *snort*

* beautiful - a word to be used with care. How about 'handsome', 'good-looking' and 'attractive'?

* pulsing - in conjunction with certain parts of the male anatomy I think 'throbbing' is the nicer image. Just saying.

* baited breath - shouldn't that be 'bated'?

*sucking - a lovely word used to describe what mouths do. Not so great for other orifices. Anataomically impossible too.

I used to love the badfic thread at TwoP. *Sigh* I never got into the habit of visiting its new home. Sometimes I wonder if mikelesq shouldn't resurrect it here. Sometimes I even wonder if I shouldn't quote a few paragraphs of truly horrible writing, but I don't really feel like offending someone.

Oooh, maybe I can do it behind cut tags. Do not read if m/m smut offends you. Do not read if you think pointing out bad writing is mean. But if you do read it please tell me, is it just me or does this really suck? Is this so-called purple prose?

FIC: The Crusader's Veil - Prologue

This one has been buried on my hard drive for ages. But I think I'm going to finish it. Yup.

GENRE: novel, gen-fic, angst, comedy - WIP
SUMMARY: Buffy is dead, but the Scoobies carry on fighting. When the Crusader comes to Sunnydale Spike has to fight an old enemy...
AUTHOR'S NOTE: After S5 I tried to write a proper tie-in novel, one that would stay in canon, about the summer of Buffy's death. Of course I was way too optimistic with regard to Spike's Scooby integration. I now intend to rewrite it and spice it up a little. But it will stay close to canon.

This is weird. I'm trying to do three things at once: With one eye I'm watching (I guess you could call it rubbernecking) the-thread-that-blew-up-in-my-face, with the other one I'm watching German comedy on television (first "Kalkofes Mattscheibe" and now "Bullyparade" - very evil) - and I'm also trying to write the new chapter of Things Present - Things Past. 400 newly written words so far. Better than nothing, I guess.
