This and that

Had a great day so far. Smiled happily at my feedback for yesterday's Pandora-snippet, had a bit of nuptual entertainment, watched Fifefly 1x13 - Trash (Thank you mikelesq) and had Sushi for lunch. Mr. Estepheia takes Wednesday mornings off, so we can have a few happy hours together without the kids and while we're still awake and even-tempered.

Obviously, I didn't get a lot of writing done, but Spike and Xander were on my mind a lot.

Outside it's stifelingly HOT. We've had 33 degrees centigrade. That's just too much. Hopefully we'll get a decent thunderstorm later. My plants need water.

I have some flowers to plant but it's too hot and the earth is too dry to do it. So I just soak the pots and hope for rain.

I haven't even started on my flashfic pairing, although I've done the preliminary research. Maybe it's the heat, but my brain just doesn't get into gear. At least not when it comes to things novel.

And now I'm awfully tired, which is a bad thing because I have to pick up my kids in half an hour. So no time for napping. :-(

ETA: I should probably explain, why I was able to watch that unaired Firefly episode... Mike told me that it was availabel through Kazaa and we went and downloaded it. The episode is fucking brilliant, very funny, lovely characters. It also brought back to me how much I love that show and how phenominally stupid Fox are for cancelling this magnificant show. I'd have happily traded S7 of Buffy for another season of Firefly. Seriously, it's THAT good!

Writerly introspection

Is there such a thing as a program that will analyse one's vocab? I'd like to find out which words I use too much. Some I already know and try to cut down on, but a statistical list would be great.

Words I use too often:
look, watch, somehow, something, almost, suddenly, when.

ETA: Oh, um, dear friends, feel free to add to that list if you've noticed me using a certain word or expression ad nauseum.
