Sorry about the spamming
Jan. 25th, 2004 08:04 amThe owner of our local (and regional) chain of cinemas (a self-made business man who created his chain of movie theatres because he loves movies) said in an interview, that he and his staff are continuously amazed how inarticulate people are when trying to buy a cinema ticket. Apparently many customers are unable to produce a proper grammatically correct and unambiguous sentence.
When they introduced the possibility to order a ticket online and pick it up from a vending machine using your EC card and your booking number, I thought it was nifty but groused about the extra fee they charge for the service. Now I'm thinking the machines were set up because Germany's young movie going populace (mostly students) are unable to talk to another person, well, in person. Ho boy!
As someone who loves the power of words I have to say: this development scares me profoundly!
