estepheia: (It's only a movie...)
So, I went to the cinema to see Open Range and what happens? Yesterday their only copy got damaged. Poof. I decided to watch Gothika instead, even though I was spoiled for the whodunit. Woah, still creepy. I shouldn*t watch Horror movies on my own. Also, since that was my sixth movie this quarter, I received a free ticket for a movie of my choice which I redeemed for tomorrow's late night showing of Hidalgo. I couldn't resist. I was so disappointed about missing my widescreen horse-plus-landscape-with-scruffy-men movie tonight, I have to watch Hidalgo asap.

I also saw the trailer for Dawn of the Dead - gotta say wild horses couldn*t drag me into that movie. If you gave me a free ticket and all the popcorn I can eat, I wouldn't go. Zombies? Eek. I can't help it but they actually scare the beejesus out of me. Okay, not one zombie, I think the frightening thing is the whole few-survivors-in-a-sea-of-monsters vibe - especially when the monsters are the people who fought beside the hero a few minutes ago. *shudder* The whole crowding theme is the thing that gets me. A pack of wolves or a horde of vampires would probably frighten me just as much. I like my angst less overwhelming, thank you very much.

The cinema also showed a new theatrical trailer for Van Helsing, longer than the one I saw before. Yummie. Oh man, I hope it's as good as it looks, unlike Extraordinary League of Gentlemen which could have been great but so wasn't.

Oh and my original vampire story? Dull like lead. *sigh* Stupid laryngitis, makes me all fuzzy brained.

Okay, so the shipper mugs are a legal no go. What a shame. Guess that means I have to make one or two for myself then. But it looks like we might do mugs with public domain texts. Dracula comes to mind. :-)
Went to bed at 4.30 am last night, after getting caught up in a discussion in [livejournal.com profile] thebratqueen's LJ. She was wondering out loud about the legal and ethical issues of conventions raising money. And believe it or not, I woke up, on my own, at 6.30, freezing. Snuggled deeper into my duvet. Am now up. Have dreadful laryingitis. Voice completely gone. Don't know why that makes me think in staccato sentences. It's a mad mad world. Anyway, have doctor's appointment for 4.30 pm. Kids have instructions from hubby to be nice. Thankfully eldest can read and she is really very good at interpreting gestures. Little daughter on the other hand is completely oblivious to my meaning when I seesaw my arms in the air. Interesting.
The really annoying thing about this laryngitis? I will probably have to cancel a roleplaying game I've been invited to. And I was so looking forward to it. Hubby fails to see the tragedy in that. He thinks I should write 7000 words of my vampire story before Easter monday. *cue for hysterical laughter* I love my hubby.

Instead of writing my original vampire story I tinkered with Dealing. Some of the characterisation in the first segment of the story was not suitable for a longer piece, while it was a legitimate shortcut for a 1000 word story. I hope that will unplug some of the blockage I had with this story.

Oh wheee! More postcards!!!! Namely from [livejournal.com profile] nwhepcat and [livejournal.com profile] vanillacokehead and Petzipellepingo. They arrived yesterday already, but I forgot to mention their arrival. *does the happy postcard dance* Thank you guys, for the lovely postcards. I feel fortunate and privileged.
I have meds for my laryngitis. Keep your fingers crossed that I get rid of this soon. Don't wanna be sick over easter. Want to make nice meals and be happy.
Had a Writer's Ink meeting today. Dear writers who are not English native speakers, click on the link and check out the Daniil Pashkoff Prize. Just saying.... pimp, pimp.
I'm gearing up to watch Hidalgo tonight. I hope they don't run commercials before they actual screening. The film is extra long, I'd like to be in bed by 2 am. I am currently running on three hours sleep... but hyper.
