Vampire TV

So, lemme see if I get this straight: WB dropped Angel because they did not want to have two vampire shows at the same time. And now they decided not to do the remake Dark Shadows because they only have two drama slots? Huh? *shakes head*

As for the supposed NBC thing... I fear it's a hoax. But is it possible that Joss still wants to do an animated show? God, I wish I had a direct line into Whedon's brain. I'd love to know what he's up to (other than Firefly, of course).

In love with superfluous detail

Why oh why am I too stupid to find out when exactly (i.e. in what month) Hesse's Steppenwolf and Virginia Woolfe's To the Lighthouse appeared in the bookstores? Both books came out in 1927. And why am I so determined to find out? Is it too anal if I wonder whether my vampire characters could be reading them in Summer 1927? Do readers really write letters to the editors pointing out such errors?
Color me insane.

Rec: Your Horoscope for Today - by Anna S.

I just read eliade's new Spander fic Your Horoscope for Today. Color me green with seething envy. Seriously, I'd love to be able to write like that. *sigh*
I love how she writes ALL the characters well. Magnificent dialogue, great description, and the funny. I feel like a right fangirl, but in all honesty I have to say that eliade/Anna S. is my favorite slash writer, no doubt about it. Whenever I read her stuff I feel like giving up wirting because I'll never be able to write on that level consistently. I just don't have the same grasp of the language. I have to console myself thinking that I seem to be getting better at using metaphor and theme. *sigh*
