estepheia: (They’re only words. But the feeling...)
Oookay. My original story is now at 6400 words. I now have to write the pivotal murder scene, then pretend to dscribe an investigation when truly I am describing the heroine's growth. The confrontation with the culprit is half written, the ending is reverberating in my head but still needs to be put into words.
Amazing what a guilt-free, PMS-free afternoon without kids can do for you. :-)
I am still far behind schedule but for the first time int two months I feel vaguely optimistic. I am also bored to tears by my own story. I hope that comes from knowing what is going on. I also hope that the unsuspecting reader will be more intrigued and less bored. *sigh*
This is the hardest thing I've ever written. What really annoys me is that I don't have the grasp of the language to give this the economic yet visual style I want. Because the narrator has a 19th century perspective I sound pompous. Maybe I should pepper it with sarcastic hindsight comments? *ponders*
