Boring sunday
Jul. 4th, 2004 06:10 pmBah. I just spent my entire Sunday putting old Games Workshop stuff into ebay - counting components, typing descriptions in both German and English, etc. The games are supposed to pay for hubby's holiday in Holland (how's that for alliteration), so he and the kids can visit the Rotterdam zoo and other attractions (at the Rotterdam zoo you can visit the sharks in a huuuuge tunnel, i.e. you walk through a huge aquarium, as though you are taking a stroll on the bottom of the sea. Very nice.)
I don't mind parting with the tin miniatures (my eyesight doesn't allow me to paint them anymore), and I won't miss the games which have been in our cellar for 10-15 years. I am a terrible pack rat, never able to part with stuff, collecting things like a hamster. But in this case I am glad to see these things go. There will be more room in our cellar. But the fact that it took me the better part of the day to get the auctions set up, irks me. I so wanted to write today (for
itsabigrock's Fanged Four ficathon or maybe
ponders_life's LTAS chapter, but ebay, a few games of pokemon with Tina (honoring an earlier promise to her), and a bit of basic cooking and tidying up just ate my day. Now it's dinner time and all writing enthusiasm has fizzled.
Maybe I'll watch a movie tonight.
Last night hubby and I watched Paycheck - and we were both pleasantly surprised. Nifty idea, solid execution. The acting was adequate. Even Woo's obligatory dove wasn't too jarring. Good one.
