I got up at 4.30 this morning to call my dad in Australia. Read more... )
Don't expect me to be cheerful today.

Whohooo! [livejournal.com profile] janedavitt wrote a Spike/Ethan ficlet for me me me! Yay. It's slash, S2, and it's called One Satisfied Customer. Good timing too, because today I really needed good vibes and nice things happening to me. (Many thanks to everybody who commented on my previous post. *hug* I'm feeling much better, thanks to you, guys.)

[livejournal.com profile] inlovewithnight wrote a really hurty h/c Firefly fic called Salvage Mission. Pairing: Jayne/Mal - not slashy, but it could be. This is definitely the kind of fic [livejournal.com profile] eliade would enjoy. Anna, if you read this post, go check out the story. It's short, but I think it will appeal to you.
The story wasn't written specifically for me, but I shall quietly pretend it was. Also, [livejournal.com profile] inlovewithnight said it's honorarily mine. So yay!

A while ago, [livejournal.com profile] knotted_rose linked me to the Surrealist Compliment Generator. Today, when I clicked on the link, it came up with the perfect compliment for Ethan: "You have not yet reached the height of your depravity." Heee. And this one is rather odd: "Sir, what exquisite breasts you have!" - makes me wonder in what kind of fic that sentence might occur. :-)

Other things that cheered me up today: [livejournal.com profile] lordshiva asked me how Dealing is doing and whether she missed an installment. While the bad news is that I haven't posted a new chapter in too long, the fact that she was asking for more actually made me very happy. Thank you, Kalima!

I made arrangements for Tina's b-day party, which will take place in early January. I hired her Irish Dance teacher. She will give Tina's friends a dancing lesson. :-) And then the kids will eat raclette. Toyah's pirate party will be hard to beat, but I think this is a good plan.

Yesterday I sold Tina's cheerleading pompoms. When the buyers, a young couple with two kids, phoned, I realized I knew them from my active American Football days. They came to pick the pompoms up, but ended up staying for almost two hours. We talked a lot about TV shows. I loaned them the first two epis of Lost and my Firefly DVDs, in the hopes of turning them into rabid Firefly fans. *looks up* I'm expecting karmic payback any minute now.

*nod* Yup. Feeling much better now.
