Just so you know...
Nov. 17th, 2007 12:22 pmI haven't actually fallen off the face of the earth. Oh no, I've been busy. I've been tidying up, mostly sorting through papers, finding old poems, putting stuff into folders, you know the drill. (and I strongly suspect my thyroid meds to be responsible for the sudden burst of energy).
I've also spent a lot of time editing my poetry oevre. Over the past thirty years I've written about 60 or so poems, some of which are dreadful, but the majority I like well enough to make a printed copy of them via lulu.com (who, sadly, refuse to print fanfic). So, I've been sorting through the poems, rewriting, tweaking and putting them into a sensible order. Hopefully, I'll get the book done before Christmas. About a third of the poems are in English.
What I found most interesting is the fact that even the poems that are 30 years old are recognizably mine. So. Either I am repetitive and boring or (and that's the version I prefer) I found my own voice at an early age. *cough*
However, Ethan has been nudging me these past two weeks, and he's getting more insistent. Today he gave me a nasty poke - no! With his elbow! Not what you think! Pervs. Anyway, I'm working on getting back into a more fanficcy frame of mind.
What else happened these past two weeks? Ah yes, I have a new class of young English students. Four kids, aged 8-9, one of them Viktoria. Our fist session was a roaring success. I don't charge much for those lessons. I'm glad Vicky has company when I teach her. And she's happy to get visited by some of her classmates once a week. Win-win. :-)
Oh, and I've rewatched Chuck - with Mr. E, who loves the show almost as much as I do. I say "almost" because I don't think he actually adores Adam Baldwin. Hee.
PS: Happy Birthday,
