Nanowrimo is drawing near. Last year I didn't even try.
The last time I did try, I got quite a lot written, but lost track of the story, because I didn't do the necessary plotting. So the story parts are still sleeping on my HD. *shrug*
This year I have something resembling an outline. I am using scene cards. *nods gravely* I also tinkered a bit with Anthemion Writer's Cafe, but haven't quite gotten the hang of it.
In September I bought "The Weekend Writer writes a Novel" and "The Weekend Writer writes a Mystery." Since then I've been experimenting with some of the techniques and suggestions that the books provide. I like the Mystery book better because the structure seems clearer. I wholeheartedly recommend both, because they do not regurgitate everything I've read in other books or heard in workshops before. Yay.
Anyway, if I were to do that nanowrimo thing this year, at least this time I'd have more material to work with. *ponders* I don't think I ever planned one of my writing projects that well...
What else is new?
I took up Irish dance again (ceilis only).
We just spent 3 days in Holland on holiday. 2 days out of 3 the weather was rotten. Still, it was nice to get away.
On Wednesday I'm reading in a Thalia bookstore from my poetry book. I switched from LULU to BOD to publish my poetry book. I am waiting for BOD to confirm that all files are in order. After that I'll even have an ISBN number. :-)
We are watching Buffy S2 with the kids. Makes me feel all nostalgic. *sniff*
I am watching "Merlin". I call it a guilty pleasure, because the show is so terrible. But at least there's Anthony Head! Looking rather nice with his grey hair. Whohooo!
