estepheia: (Writing)
Oookay, I'm feeling like writing, and I may even have a bit of time on my hand tomorrow after work. So, maybe I could write a few drabbles or fragments, nothing to get bogged down in, just shortish bits, and post them in December....
My previous advent calendar drabble efforts have not always yielded 24 stories,  but I usually managed to get a good handful done...

So, if you leave your prompt in the comments, I'll see what I can do. :)

I haven't actually made this yet, but I've eaten it. (It's a friend's recipe)
The recipe is so good it needs to be shared. :)

Pumpkin Bread

6 cups flour
1 1/2 teaspoons each: salt, cinnamon, cloves, nutmeg, ginger
3 teaspoons soda
3/4 cup water
6 eggs
3 cups sugar
1 1/2 cups brown sugar
1 1/2 cups oil
3 cups pumpkin (you have to steam it and then puree it.  It doesn't really matter what kind of pumpkin it is.)

Combine the dry ingredients.
  1. Put baking soda in the water
  2. Blend other wet ingredients in a large bowl.
  3. Alternate adding the dry ingredients and the baking soda mixture to the wet ingredients in the large bowl and mix thoroughly.
  4. Mix in 1/2 cup of any or all of the following:  raisins, chocolate chips, nutes, dates
6)  Pour the batter into 3 loaf pans.
7)  Bake for 50-60 minutes at 175° C.
8)  Cool and wrap in aluminum foil.  They can be frozen ;-)
