Gold medal? Nuh. My children were happy, and those who visit us regularly were happy too, that's what counts. I like happy children. When I was a kid there were no themed birthday parties... so I've never actually experienced one first hand, but there are books that can help with such parties. What amazes me is the amount of prep time these books assume the mothers to have....
