I love this. I wish you were planning to continue it, but even if you don't, thanks for posting this. It's exactly how I see Lorne getting over his heartbreak ... unwillingly drawn back into the AI bosom (or what's left of it), because the ties of friendship just won't be denied. I imagined it as a link between Lorne and Angel, but Lorne and Spike is even more interesting as they didn't know each other very well or very long ... so in your scenario Lorne's both returning to the past and yet embarking on something quite new.
