I couldn't imagine such a scenario in any other way - I couldn't ever see Giles forgiving Angel or being comfortable with him, and you really got deep inside him here in a way that was very true to the character.
Angsty and beautifully written.
I was glad about the non-slash too, if only because if anyone was going to comfort Giles in a slashy way, it should be Spike in my book
