Neighborhood kids spotted a little kitten high up in a tree - the poor thing was too frightened to move. The locals called the fire brigade who turned up with a huge fire engine. As the extension ladder came near, the kitten climbed even higher, then tried to move sideways. The branch started to bob and the kitten fell. It landed on another branch, tried to hold on... fell... straight into my waiting arms. The little critter gave me a nasty scratch then darted off - a black and white streak, evidently unhurt. :-)
