Today the writing bug bit me. You know how sometimes a story takes on a life of its own? It happened to me with Perdition Catch my Soul – somehow the characters talked and ranted and hurled abuse, one would have needed a shovel to shut them up. Well, actually, I didn’t use the shovel. I just listened, and wrote down what they said, and when the boys ran out of steam, I sent them off to make up. Meanwhile, I pored over what I’d written. That’s when the hard work began. Where I had to trim, cut and slice. It’s a bit like cooking. You can’t just throw everything you like into the pot, stir and hope for the best…

Anyway, this story has been so much fun. It was supposed to be a little fling on the side, but it’s turned into a full-fledged fatal attraction. My household is a shambles, my hubby neglected, and I’ve got an insane smile on my face. And this potpourri of metaphors has been going on for far too long.

Now all I have to do is find out how to post a link in my brand-spanking new Livejournal.

Perdition Catch my Soul

Fandom: Buffy the Vampire Slayer
Pairing: Xander/Spike
Rating: NC-17 for slash (sort of), dark imagery, naughty language
Summary: Post-"Beneath You" (7x02) - What if Xander, instead of Buffy had followed Spike to that church...

Isn't it nice to be in the writing groove? Maybe not for the kids who wanted dinner 45 minutes ago, *g* but it's nice when it happens.
