this and that

This morning it seems to be extra difficult to get into the swing of things. I have an incredibly long groceries list that threatens me with two hours worth of shopping torture. But I haven't quite worked up the necessary energy to actually leave my warm home. Outside it's unpleasently cold. The first tiny snowflakes look like someone accidentally spilled some icing sugar. I guess I should do the shopping ASAP, before the snow impairs my driving.
Last night I talked to my friend Marcee about Florida. She lives in Fort Lauderdale. If I ever manage to save the money for the airfare to Florida I can stay with her for a week or so. I've seen quite a few countries already but never made it to America. I'd love to see Florida, visit Micky Mouse and Cape Canaveral. I really have to find out what a flight to Florida costs. If I can either sell my German fantasy novel or land another translation job I might actually have the money. Mr. Estepheia would be prepared to take care of the kids for a week (he really is a treasure). I like going on holiday on my own. A few years ago I spent a week in Scotland, all on my own. That was fun.
*Sigh* Now I feel "Fernweh" - a lovely German word meaning the aching desire to travel.
