Today is not my day

All in all, today has been a sucky day.
Bad stuff:
Good stuff:
Okay, maybe it wasn't 100% bad after all. *sigh*
Bad stuff:
- No Venetian Heat. Damn! If I were religious in any way I'd *pray* for a decent movie role for JM. He so needs to do something different.
- My idea of writing a story to sponsor
lordshiva turned out to be problematic because I hadn't considered copyright issues. (mental note: first think, then post)
- PMS
- A very annoying email from a RL friend who told me that it gets on his nerves when I get all fannish and that I'm insensitive and a bad friend for not noticing and then respecting his lack of interest in all things Spike. Bah. Just what I need.
- My back aches.
- I ate too much and the wrong things
- My Carnivale 1x02 file is corrupt, so I have to dl again
- Didn't write a thing
- Lacked the energy to do anything constructive
- Watched QAF (Hate Ethan!)
Good stuff:
- Wonderful feedback for Wake and String Quartet
- Hubby put money into my writercon piggy bank (twice)
- Went to see a bonfire with the kids (fire pretty)
-
ladycat777 is writing more One, Two, Three, her marvellous Spike-gets-turned-into-a-girl fic. Squeee!
- Read 25 pages of Anita Blake
- Watched QAF (loved how Emmet tore up the cheque for a million bucks)
- Daughters were ever so cute today. Katharina is growing up so fast!
Okay, maybe it wasn't 100% bad after all. *sigh*

Date: 2003-10-02 06:26 pm (UTC)Cracking up here. I hate Ethan, too. I wasn't much of a fan of Dr. Dave in Season 1, either.
I'm glad your day wasn't 100% bad, but sorry that any part of it sucked. May today be better.

Date: 2003-10-02 06:59 pm (UTC)But Ethan.... dunno why, haven't seen much of him yet, but something about him puts me off.
My favorite characters are Brian (duh), Emmet, Vic, and Debbie. Ted I can barely stand, Michael bores me with his doe-eyed look. Justin is cute when he isn't dim. I like his mom. All in all it's a nice show. Oh, and I loooooved George - although it was so predictable that he'd die during sex. At least he died happy. :-)
I'm babbling. I ought to go to bed. Almost 4 am here. Have to get up in about 3 hours. nite nite.

Date: 2003-10-03 05:56 am (UTC)I'd love to hear your opinion about season 2 as a whole after you've seen it all. Of the three, it was my least favorite. I loved season 1 and I really liked season 3 (although I was unsure at first). Season 2 had some great moments but as a whole I liked it the least (probably because of Justin/Ethan - ick!).

Date: 2003-10-04 08:05 am (UTC)As for Ethan. The chin hair doesn't freak me out. I don't know what it is....
Did you read the Queer Survivor story eliade rec'd in her LJ. Fun, once you get past the first chapter.
No Venetian Heat?!
Date: 2003-10-02 08:12 pm (UTC)Sending you nice happy slashy thoughts. Let me see...I'm picturing "My Beautiful Laundrette" but with Spike and Xander.
...come to think of it, that's a good bunny. Someone needs to write this. Someone who, unlike me, can actually write, that is. Hope tomorrow is better!
Re: No Venetian Heat?!
Date: 2003-10-04 08:06 am (UTC)No bunny for me.
And yeah, the cancellation of VH sucks dead toads through bendy straws.

Remember, Ethan goes away (erm, you did know that, right?), the A:tS premiere rocked, your hubby is too wonderful for words (are you sure he's real, and not just something you made up to torment all of us? Dah-um, you are lucky!), and your daughters are equally wonderful.
Tomorrow can only be better.
::nods determinedly, knocks wood::

Date: 2003-10-04 08:09 am (UTC)LOL. He's real. :-) But it took him a few years to reach his current yummieness. He's still improving. But he's always been patient. That helps.
Thanks for your kind words. Today is a bit better but still not a productive day. *sigh*
Stupid hormones. *kicks hormones*

Date: 2003-10-02 08:55 pm (UTC)What I said was, "But, but...there's a SEQUEL, right?!?!?", which now strikes me as kinda demanding, and not properly respectful of the work that you've done on this story.
What I meant was, that I loved the story so much, I didn't want it to end. Based on where it fits in canon, I can see why you ended it where you did, and it fits the story perfectly. So knowing that this story was finished, my poor feeble brain said, "SEQUEL!", and I went with it, especially because of this part:
Spike smirks. "If you want a fag after a bit of frottage, what'll happen if we ever do it for real, proper fucking and the works? Bring out the chains and whips? I'll corrupt you yet."
'Proper fucking and the works?' Yes please. But...
So I hope that your muse will move you to write more Spander, be it a sequel or a totally different story, because you do it so well, and you're a peach for sharing it with all of us.
Oh, and frottage is *so* my new favorite word! I even used it in feedback that I left for

Date: 2003-10-03 12:48 am (UTC)don't worry. Been through the whole kerfuffle already.
I agree with Circe that 'More please' or the infamous 'Interesting' are the kind of feedback that seems a little 'eh', but it's better than none. I like it if people clamour for a sequel. I write my chapters with cliffhangers, so a desperate shout for 'more' is an indication that it's working.
However my favorite feedback (and that applies to most other authors) is quoting a line or two you like, or a plot point you like. But when the enthusiasm leaps off the page, then a 'Sequel sequel' chant doesn't bug me, on the contrary.
Don't worry, I don't think you're demanding or insensitive or under the illusion that you're entitled to more.
I enjoyed your feedback.
And if there's ever something you don't like, something that doesn't work.... just tell me. I can take it.
And yeah, I left the door for a sequel wide open, and with only one eye, Xander will have to move on to playing cards...

Date: 2003-10-03 11:10 am (UTC)As to V.H. being cancelled, well I also feel very sorry for James at this time. We all know he could have done with the extra 'exposure' that this film would have brought to his carer. I do hope that he gets another crack at getting a good character part in the near future.

Date: 2003-10-04 08:11 am (UTC)Yeah well, he is right to some extent. What bugs me is that he didn't tell me in person, sooner, and in kinder words. *sigh*
Well, at least I have livejournal friends who try to make me feel better. Thanks. :-)
