I finally finished my Secret Slasha assignment and sent it off. Yay me. Many thanks to [livejournal.com profile] ladycat777, [livejournal.com profile] firehorse, [livejournal.com profile] xanpet2000 and [livejournal.com profile] mikelesq. They all helped with encouragement, betaing and morale boosting when assignment v.1.0 didn't quite work out.

Today I followed a link to adult fanfiction net and came across fanfiction so squicky, it's beyond bad. Bleagh! I am still trying to cleanse my memory. Would you believe there are people who write fic in which Buffy gets raped by the Mummy hand? Or raped by the Übervamp. Yuk!!!! EEEEEWWWWWWWWWW!

I just spent hours shopping for Christmas. I found the ideal present for some of our friends but had to pass when I saw the price. That sucks. But I picked up a few nice last minute items for the kids, bought a present for myself, a fake dreamcatcher, which didn't cost much and which the hubby can wrap up for me so I can act surprised. The kids will think it's pretty. My true present is Mr. Estepheia's willingness to look after the kids for a week some time next spring so I can go to Florida and visit [livejournal.com profile] mikelesq and Marcee (and Disneyworld). Jeez, I really love that man!

I also managed to get a few nice tidbits for other friends, but I am still stumped for some of them. It doesn't help that everything is so expensive, lately. We've had the Euro for a year now, and it seems to me like most prices have gone up by 30%. It's quite frightening.

While I went on my shopping extravaganza, 83-year-old aunty in tow, Mr. Estepheia took Tina and Toyah to buy a Christmas tree. This afternoon the kids can decorate it. He really deserves the afternoon off. It's his turn to watch LotR - The Two Towers.

The supermarkets are packed. Mr. Estepheia didn't even manage to get onto the parking lot. Meaning the groceries shopping will have to take place tonight after 7 pm. Poor thing.

Suggestions for a title would be greatly appreciated.

Yesterday we watched "Scrooged" with Bill Murray, today "Little Lord Fauntleroy" with Alec Guinness. The tree is decorated. Most of the shopping is done. Now we have to gift wrap. I'm slowly but surely getting into a christmas-y mood. Thank goodness for that!
