New crazy!Spike vid and other good news
Jul. 31st, 2003 11:53 amOh my god! It's done, it's finished!
catatonic1242's Spike-vid to Low Man's Lyric by Metallica (from their album Reloaded). And it rocks! *Does Numfar's dance of joy*
This vid is the result of a trade. I asked Catatonic if she'd do a crazy!Spike vid for me based on that song. I promised her a 1000 word fic in return. She agreed and asked for Spike/Oz. I wrote that story a couple of days ago, and now she's finished her vid. I'm particularly proud because I was able to contribute a little to the it; we actually talked about the footage to be used. She'd already made another crazy!Spike vid, (check it out, it's called 'Unwell') so for her the challenge was to come up with some unused images. IMHO she did a terrific job. Please, if you like the vid, drop her an email and tell her so. I know vidders don't get nearly as much feedback as they deserve.
You can find the vid here:
Low Man's Lyric by
catatonic1242
Artist: Metallica
Subject: Spike's redemption (character vid)
Warnings: There's footage of the bathroom scene in Seeing Red, just so you're warned.
Other things of note:
Things Present - Things Past won its first award: Vampire Kisses, category: Best Long Fic.
Now, I should be evolved enough not to care about awards, but I guess I haven't been writing long enough to be indifferent. If I get one, then I'm happy. And I love being nominated. *shrug* I'm superficial that way.
Speaking of superficial. It's horrifying how the feedback flow or drought can influence my mood. Not always, mind you, but there are days when I feel more 'needy'. Yesterday was such a day. I know I should write for myself, yadda yadda, and mostly I do, but when I post I still fall into a state of anticipation. So I felt kinda mopey yesterday, until I received a lovely email with wonderful and thoughtful feedback on the whole Pandoraverse series.
And since these wonderful events really changed yesterday's and this morning's cranky and migraine-y mood for the better, I charge my friends (and all the lurkers out there) with this task: Try to make someone feel good today. Send that bit of feedback for a vid or story, which you've been meaning to send for ages but never got round to writing. Spread a little happiness as you go by.
Estepheia out.
