ficathons

Am beginning to think that these ficathons are... well... odd. The thing I liked about the original secret slasha and the ficathons was that you got saddled with pairings that you normally wouldn't write. That could mean that people were forced to write outsider their comfort zone. I always whined a lot, but ultimately I was always glad to stretch my wings. I would never sign up for a Giles/Xander ficathon because I simply don't feel tempted and never picked up subtext others may have seen. But if I got saddled with it in a general ficathon I'd try my best (sez I who still hasn't finished her Back in the day fic with Xander and Oz, but I haven't abandoned it).
I seem to have come across a spikeathon recently - but I forgot where. Now that is general enough for me and I'd like to sign up. Where can I sign the dotted line? Because Spike... well, he goes with everything. :-)
Ah, Ladycat told me: the Spikeslashathon can be found here

ETA: and should someone see an Ethan-athon pop up somewhere, could you please gimme a shout? Cheers.

The kindergarden petty cash I mentioned yesterday? Seems okay. *sighs in relief* Also? Went to the gym today, picked up my new reading glasses, which are fabulous, bought Carneval stuff for the kids and a dinosaur poster. And we just had Fondue/Raclette because the eldest asked me for it a few times.

Raclette iinvolves a little electric barbecue set that sits on the table and you have little pans which you fill with cheese (Edamer, Gouda, Cheddar, or Mozarella) and place under heated coils, so the cheese melts. And at the top you can grill stuff. You eat the cheese with boiled potatoes, tomatoes, boiled vegetables, pineapple pieces... whatever tickles your fancy. As tor the grill, we use it for small cubes of rumpsteak or chicken breast, mushrooms, courgettes, bacon, little sausages and whateve else we have. Liver is good.
We grill the meat and serve it with Fondue dips and French bread. Fondue dips are various dips home made dips based on mayonaise, fruit and spices. I usually make a banana-curry dip, a horseraddish-cranberry dip and garlic with cream. Veeeery yummie. Afterwards you are stuffed to the hilt! God, I'm so full.
And now it's "Smile Time."
