Weight Watcher quiz and RL update
Oct. 4th, 2004 09:57 amThanks to the fabulous
drc1 (*blows kisses*) I was finally able to watch The Celluloid Closet. Marvellous film (which, incidentally, is out on DVD in Germany, available via Amazon). I had seen the second half of the film before, and now I finally got to see the whole thing. I can only recommend this to anyone studying movies or anyone interested in gay literature/films. On a whim I hopped to Amazon and guess what? I found a second hand copy of the book for 10 EUR. So I ordered that. Yay.
I also glanced at
kita0610's new resource page for StA and what did I find? An essay by TBQ on Wesley as a sissy - based on the book. Odd coincidence. Oh, and the essay is immensely readable, btw: Wesley, not canonically gay, but a hell of a symbol. (Sorry, no direct link)
itsabigrock posted essy topics for the essayficathon. I have not yet claimed one but am tempted by three topics. I will toss around a few ideas and see what happens. I still have to write my Spike/Ethan shipper manifesto. Oops. Unfortunately RL is time-consuming right now (e.g. I have a gazillion mags and other items to describe for ebay. *cringe* But the cellar needs to be cleared out, the sooner the better. Also the garden needs a lot of work, On top of that I have to prepare my next 6 or so English lessons, and the house looks like a pig sty. Too many non-fandom related things that eat my time. How dare they?!). Plus my dad's failing health is making me gloomy. I am therefore taking a fandom time out right now, i.e. I will write if I feel like it, when I feel like it, but I will avoid stress at all cost.
