Aug. 28th, 2005 10:23 pmLook what
ponders_life made for me! Wonderful flower icons. She made several, in fact, which I intend to use liberally. Squee!
And look, I also received a Spike/Ethan drabble from
spikendru which you can find here.
The rest of my haul included:
- A black mini skirt for dance practice (from Mr. E - cheeky fella!)
- A 3 DVD set about Michael Flatley
- two tickets for this year's German Bowl
- "Inside Serenity"
- a very tacky ugly glittery dolphin knickknack thingie (which Tina bought with her pocket money and which I ooh'd and aaah'd over appreciatively).
- a candle holder for the garden
- a few beauty products (a not so subtle hint from the only person in the world who can get away with this sort of hint)
- IKEA vouchers (yay!)
- a bookstore voucher
- a book of German short stories
- DISGAEA - a PS2 game (which I bought for myself)
- a bit of money from my auntie
- a set of three pretty boxes
- a voucher for a day trip including lunch and a movie and popcorn
- many compliments for my utterly tidy living room
- a phone call from Hong Kong
- flowers
- unexpected feedback for several of my older stories
Brunch and party were a success, I think. People left well-fed. Some of the people present I hadn't seen in a while. I love having all (well, most) of our best friends gathered in one place. And there were babies, lots of babies. One of them only three weeks old.
Also, several people congratulated me in birthday posts. I tried to reply to all these posts. If I missed any, I'm awfully sorry. I tried to keep up, but I didn't spend a lot of time at the computer.
As of tomorrow, the kids will both go to school again. Yay! Getting all their stuff together was exhausting. Also, Tina is pretty recalcitrant lately, a high maintanance child who just won't do what she's told. That, too, is exhausting. I hope she'll quickly get used to going to school again.
Tomorrow it's Toyah's first day at school. She has a wonderful, very dedicated teacher. He is very attentive. He even wrote her a letter a few days ago, asking her to send him a photo and asking her a few questions. I just hope that Viktoria enjoys school and that she'll do well in his class.
I intend to make good use of my kid-free hours in the morning. I have a lot of writing and studying to do. Can't wait!
