geocities / archive stuff
Aug. 26th, 2005 09:18 amHuh? I got a message from yahoo informing me that my geocities site experienced a lot of traffic recently and that it had to be shut down twice to preserve bandwidth. I haven't updated that site in forever (ever since I got my own domain), so this is rather weird. I guess it's time I took that old archive down and replaced it with a reroute thingie... *makes mental note* I better ask hubby how to create a page that automatically reroutes people...
Anyway, I better start taking the stories down. :-)
[ETA: Actually, the more I think about it, the more I am convinced that the email is fake. An attempt to get me to click on links so the senders can install spywear and suss out my passwords or something...]
Also, I'd like to pimp a fantastic new site: The Reference Key - a database that gathers links to Spike/Angel stories archived elsewhere. Authors can list their stories there and anyone can search for specific stories. You want to read stories about Fledgeling Will or about Human Liam? The search engine will help you.
The site is coded and maintained by
itsabigrock and
peasant_.
I wish we had a S/X database like that.
Of course, a database is only as good as the people who register. If you know a good S/A author who has not listed her/his stories there, give her/him a nudge.
