So, I finally watched Smallville 3x08 and boy, what an unsettling episode.
I always have issues when protagonists go through spells of insanity or skewered reality. Inexplicably, I find myself interrupting the epi, fixing myself a drink, taking a break. Very odd. Anyway, while the plot of 'lets make x believe he's nuts by letting someone supposedly die in front of his eyes' is oooold, it was wielded with great effect here. At least I'm curious how it will go on. And I loved the closing shot of the two Luthors to the sound of Johnny Cash's 'Hurt' - whoa. Finally an epi that has a certain emotional impact.
As for the rest of the season so far: Boooring. Lana has way more chemistry with Chloe or Lex, and so does Clark. Pete is extremely superfluous und boring as hell. Lionel Luthor is a screen magnet, but I often feel that by rights the show should be able to tell a decent story without Lionel's constant involvement.
Oh well.
So, when does the new SV epi air?
Sometimes I find it hard to believe that a show like SV gets a third season when Firefly didn't get a full first season.

I have often said that I wish he would leave SV and find work and PTBs who appreciate whatever gifts he has to offer, because ALMiles certainly don't.
