Quick RL update. Yes, my friends, I'm still funneling all most of my energy into the translation I'm working on - and into making my living room presentable again (even though I'd prefer to write). I have about 25-30 meters of SF & Fantasy paperbacks, which I'm moving to different shelves or into boxes, after moving the literature stuff to other shelves... It's like a big puzzle. Rubik's cube. I'm also throwing/giving away tons of old video tapes. Is anyone interested in acquiring the first three seasons of B5 on PAL tapes? Original cassettes, English language. I'd sell them on ebay, but it seems hardly worth the bother. So maybe someone wantst to swap them for something else? Something ornamental, perhaps? Toys for kids? I'm open for suggestions.
As for the other tapes... well... there are a few English ones, but most are German ex-rentals (so probably not in good nick either). B-pictures mostly, some with Rutger Hauer. I find it hard to throw these away but I would gladly give the two boxes to anyone who turns up on my doorstep, provided he/she takes them all. (And don't mention flea markets. We've got snow outside.... *shudders*)

I haven't worn my favorite shoes in 5 days and my back feels a lot better. I'm taking this as a sign. I haven't exaclty thrown my old shoes out, but I'm that close *holds index finger and thumb one inch apart*

The stern talking to I gave Viktoria last week is still effective. She dresses herself and the teachers at day care said she's been remarkably good ever since. *smiles*

Huh! I wish my stern talkings would work! :o( Still trying to bash my head against the wall when it comes to my daughter. Oh and she has the same name as your daughter, but with a 'c' ;o)

Viktoria is not a common name here. She calls herself Toyah. Actually, we all do. :-) She's a headstrong little critter, but I guess that's ok.
We thought long and hard about names. Jennifer and Elenor and Antonia were runner ups. I liked the inherent power in the name. :-)

Stern talking tos that are backed up with deeds, those can work. If she doesn't put her shoes on I *will* take her to kindergarten barefoot, even in snow. Actually, after two meters most kids cave. I also try to balance moments of impotence with moments of choice. Meaning, we ask what she wants on her sandwich and will sometimes let her choose hat or scarves... That helps.
