Spam sucks!

God I hate spam. We set up an email account for Katharina, even though she's only 7, because we wanted to reserve the name before it gets taken by someone else. So the addy has never actually been used. And? Today she received her first sex spam mail. I really feel like inflicting bodily harm on those people.
I am getting tons of spam lately, always the same crap but from different senders.
Plus I get knock-knock-ed via AIM. If I want sex I will jump my husband and if I want porn I read it here. I am particularly offended by some hijackers who occasionally pop a hard core porn on my screen when I go to visist Thesaurus.com. What if my kids stood next to me when I go looking for a particular word? These people really have no common decency whatever.

As for the break up with my friend... Thanks for your support, guys. It really helped. Also, I spent a few hours gardening - digging and weeding helped my disposition a little. I am no longer completely morose, just kinda sad. Will try to write a bit now.

Oh and another thing that cheered me up? willshenillshe's latest offering, a post-Damage Spike/Oz ficlet called Hands. Lovely.

Do you have the google toolbar installed? It comes with a pop up blocker that works excellently! That should help with the porn pictures...

I think there are other pop up blocker programs around, I haven't tried any, though...

Also web.de has got a pretty decent spam filter, but then again, so has aol, probably?

The toolbar? I heard that mentioned before. Maybe I'll install that.

Yeah, aol finally has spam filters, thank god. I heard 9.0 is even better but I haven*t installed that yet. I use the AOL communicator since I use a different provider than AOL.

Since I signed up to AIM a week and a half ago, I've been pelted with explicit spam - about 100 a day. And that's with Yahoo's filter working.

Oh man, that sucks.
I normally blame Yahoo for all spam because I never received any until I joined a few Yahoo lists. I never heard of AIM leading to spamming. You really should use a program like adaware of spybot and look for cookies, maybe that will help.

Thanks. The problem is that my outlook doesn't work and I use about three different computers to access email, so I'm reliant on Yahoo filters as I read it online in Yahoo. These people are clever. They get blocked, then use another format to send it.
