B-day party was a success. The Irish Dance teacher did a fantastic job wearing the kids out, so they were well behaved. My knowledge game went okay, and all the prizes were appreciated (nothing fancy, just unusual balloons, a few adhesive stickers and glitter duct tape). Incidentally, the kids did not bemoan the absence of cake. They gladly ate jell-o with vanilla sauce instead, and chocolate pudding. I had 5 bowls of such desserts, plus sauce and cream. Very plain, very successful. And the cheese melting orgy was well received too. Call me super-mom.
I nearly finished clearing up the mess. I also invited friends over to help us eat the left overs. As always I bought WAY too much. I cancelled tonight's cinema plans (because of the friends who are coming.), so I will get to spend a few hours on Dealing later. Yippieh.

ETA: Too stuffed and too exhausted to write. I'll regret it tomorrow, but I'm going to bed early. Only had 4 hours of sleep last night anyway.

And the best thing is, the instructor is a trained kindergarden teacher, really good with kids. And she had lunch with us. AND the kids loved her. AND... she didn't cost us any money. She did it as a favour to us - the way hubby is doing the Irish Dance club a favour designing their website.
She is a really nice lady, quite big, you'd never believe her to be a dancer, but she's the most advanced dancer of our club and the kind of person who gets things done and still manages to be fun and warm. I admire hubby's ability to find interesting people and connect with them.
