So, Marti Noxon wants James Marsters to star on Point Pleasant? Cool. I saw a few trailers and liked what I saw. As a fan of Buffy S6 I look forward to this show.

Check out this wonderful Ethan mainip by [livejournal.com profile] wickedfox. Amazing. She really pretties him up, with the scruff and the earring. *purrs*

Watched I Robot again. Seemed longer this time, but I still enjoyed it. I love the guy who played the dead Professor - I always forget his name, but I think he's fabulous.

Spent several hours polishing Dealing - also tried to work on Lucky but got distracted by the family. In that context I'd like to ask something. Someone peddling steroids and similar drugs to college basketball players would go to prison, yes? I am having more evil porny ideas for Lucky - which sucks in a way, because I don't want to spend a lot of time on it. It's odd, some stories draw me in and they just kidnap my brain and get longer and longer, and other stories move in sloooow mo. It's like pulling teeth. Whenever I sit down to write more LTAS (and believe me, I keep trying), my brain just implodes and I feel utterly empty and indecisive. Writing is a succession of decisions: this action or that, cut here or not, this word or that. Being indecisive just won't do. *sigh* I hate hate hate when my brain and my muse do not cooperate.

I, too, love Buffy Season 6, but oh my, the folks who hate it really hate it. About half the crowd over on Whedonesque is all upset about MN bringing James back and making him be naked.

Hmmm. Just never was a problem for me, I must say :)

It depends. Small trafficing, first offense, probation is possible. High volume, and a record, they're probably doing time.

What if one of the players is found taking them and also distributing them to his team mates?

Basically I am looking for a plausible offence for a college basketball player to be put behind bars for. He's not guilty, but gets framed by a cop (Vice Squad). Set in California.

RE: MN and The Marsters: There are many fans - including me - who really don't want to see those two folk come near each other. MN ruined S6 by having scripts tailored to her personal life issues, then had Buffy and Spike role-play them out. Who paid the cost? SMG and JM - especially JM, who uses The Method for acting. So, for some of us, this is not joyous news.

RE: arrest for steroids and similar drugs to college athletes? The fines/imprisonment terms, etc., vary based on each state, the drugs, etc., etc., etc.

Count me among the people who'll try to watch the show as well. Especially since the renewed Marti bashing the JM news caused disturbs me. I can deal with writers and producers I like being criticised (none of them are perfect, all of them make mistakes, and usually just shrug if, say, a post calls Joss an idiot, though I love my Mr. Whedon, but there is something, I don't know, vicious and personal in the Marti attacks which freaks me out.

Also? Loved the majority of Marti episodes on BTVS, from What's my line II" onwards. I wish her the best.

I agree that Marti wrote some excellent episodes.
I can easily forgive S6 for some of its flaws - and I still believe that Whedon is just as responsible for the things people don't like about S6.

Jane Espenson once said that S7 was so... um problematic, because they were constantly waiting for Joss to okay certain scripts and ideas, and when he finally got round to it, there was always too little time left to fix things satisfactorily. That does not sound to me like Joss ever relinquished control over the show.
I find it impossible to condemn Marti while blithely ignoring the many ways in which Whedon fucked up or disappointed (I still hate Chosen). I think Joss Whedon is funny and smart and he has given us great tv - but not single-handedly.

I guess I wish all the writers good job opportunities and a happy productive career.

Yep, I'd rather watch Beer Bad with sound on than any ep of Season 7. Good comments, all.

Oookay, I wouldn't go as far as that. I like about five or six early episodes a lot, and I love love love the way they tried to echo previous seasons, but I hated hated hated almost everything they did to Anya. Bastards!
