Happy Easter, everybody! And a lot of hoppy bunnies to you!

Our Easter has been splendid so far. We had Raclette last night and rumpsteak with salad and potatoes today. Both kids are feeling a lot better - they helped in the kitchen, and they ate huge amounts. I played a boardgame with them and they were pretty well behaved (makes me wonder how long their current affliction has gone undiagnosed). In a minute we'll watch a movie. We'll give Ivanhoe a shot, with the option of switching to Traumschiff Surprise (a German Star Trek spoof) if the kids don't like Ivanhoe.

Hubby's cold is getting better.

Last night we watched the League of Extraordinary Gentlemen (which I'd seen in Tampa, when it came out) - and again I was saddened by all the missed opportunities. Sean Connery is great, the opening is fun and promising (I love recruitment scenes), but the main plot is just dumber than dumb. Very unfortunate. And some of the CGIs are sucky beyond compare. But since I had more than a year to get over my initial disappointment, I have to say that it wasn't as unbearable as I remembered it. Just pretty bad.

Tomorrow I'll try to find a beta for my current fic, maybe I'll even write for an hour or two. :-)

Happy Easter to you, too!! I'm glad things are looking up.:-)

PS: I just saw a trailer for 'Blow Dry', the movie with Alan Rickman playing a hairdresser (and also starring Bill Nighy and Heidi Klum). It's going to air on Vox, next Sunday at 20.15 (the dubbed version only but maybe you would like to check it out anyway :-)).

Happy Easter to you and yours. Glad to hear everyone is feeling better. League does have a stupid main plot doesn't it and the ending really sucks.

Tee-hee. I love the way you toss off sentences like this: "We had Raclette last night and rumpsteak with salad and potatoes today." without dwelling on the fact that someone (most likely named Steffi) had to do all that cooking. Your family is lucky.

I've beta'd for you before. Let me know if you want me to take a look. And Happy Easter! pat

Hah, cooking is the least of my worries. I like feeding the family, especially if they enjoy the food. They were family favourites, so I was a happy cook. And like I said, the kids helped, hubby too.

I suck at cleaning, but I have no problem spending a few hours preparing food. :-)

As for betaing, I think I'll take you up on that tomorrow. Thanks.

:-D

Happy Easter to you too :)

We just bought the DVD of "The League..." - I really enjoyed the film *except* for the Hulk-i-fication of Mr. Hyde.

I totally agree. The Hulk-i-fication (nice word) was my biggest issue. It wasn't entirely un-interesting, but it looked so lousy and ugly - and the point of Hyde was not brutality but unbridled pleasure-seeking.

I also hated the things they did with the Nautilus - especially the whole Venice sub-plot. Do they honestly want me to believe that the freaking sub can travel through Venice and cut corners there? Bah!

But I liked the Quartermain/Sawyer father/son thing - and Mina and Dorian having history, that was well done too. :-)
