How's that. I'm gone for a few days and miss the great news. James Marsters has a role on Smallville. Not my favorite show, by far, but I'm glad he has work. A villian is good, a villain known for being intelligent? Even better. I'll tune in. It means I have to catch up with S4 (I heard rumors that it isn't very good), but I was going to do that anyway. And yeah, I know, you're probably sick of the whole subject already.
Apart from the good news I seem to have missed a few kerfuffles. I have decided that I have neither time nor patience for kerfuffles. When I started out on LJ my kids were both in kindergarten and I had the house to myself from 8 to 3 p.m. every day. My LJ habits formed then: I spent a lot of time reading and writing, even arguing and getting involved in discussions. These days I don't have that time anymore. Too many projects fight for the morning spot where I'm alert and creative. And in the evenings the naughty little torrent fairy taps me with her magic wand and turns me into a couch potato. Oh well.
I watched S1 of The Dead Zone last week. Great show. I loved the epi with the Shaman, but some of the others were also pretty good. The main actor is not my cuppa, but hey, I can live with it.
Today, after exhausting two hours of Irish Dancing, we took the kids and housesitter S. to see Madagascar. Fun, but the screenplay is definitely an example of writing by numbers. Very formulaic, also too gadgety. Still, the main characters were great and some of the jokes were very funny.

*sigh* Right, who's gonna cook me dinner? Something with lots of veggies? *pats tummy woefully*

I'm currently trying to dl S 2 and 3 of DZ but the torrents seem to have died. :-(
The writers really manage to come up with interesting angles. Some of the episodes are downright creepy. It's also nice to see 'Ezri' again. :-)

We watched about 8 episodes of the new BSG but the whole Bolthar plot line annoyed us, so we stopped. We also have little regard for the political message. Too much power for the military. Maybe it's because we're German, but my knee-jerk reaction is: eek, Fascists.

I watched half an epi of Monk once when visiting Marcee in Florida and hated it. I guess it's better if you watch it from the beginning...

I look forward to more House and Veronica Mars - I enjoyed both more than Lost. I think Lost got a bit... too peculiar. A bit like Twin Peaks - I enjoyed that for a while but then started scratching my head and going WTF?

Bones looks like fun. The torrent for the pilot was available so I downloaded and watched it. I like the set-up and the characters. The case as such was a bit meh. We'll have to wait and see how the show pans out.

:-)

Damn, I miss Jossverse shows so much. *sigh*
