Toyah's b-day / poetry slam

Toyah's b-day party was a resounding success. All kids dressed up as Indians and had to pass a few tests in order to fill their medicine pouch with magic ingredients. We had jell-o and later whole BBQ'd chicken which they ate in their wigwams to American Native music. The kids were extremely pleased.
I attended a (German) poetry slam today, but I did poorly. My friend and I were the only women in a field of 13, and we read texts that were not strong on performance, so we stood no chance. I was, in fact, horrified how appallingly bad some of the well-received texts were. *shakes head* Oh well, life's a bitch.
I would love to write but for the past week I've felt like I'm coming down with something and today it finally hit me. Sore throat, failing voice. So, it's hot cocoa for me and then I'll try to keep the bed bugs at bay. Toodles.

Yeah, I decided not to dwell on the poetry slam failure. My poetry does not perform well, it's better read than listened to. :-)

Still, I admit, I was a little disappointed.
