What a day

Got up this morning, shoo-shooed the kids out of the house, showered, had idea for a prologue, typed it into the compi in a hurry (the first 170 words towards today's total, hurrah), drove to campus, taught my course, talked to my university mentor, drove home, made lunch, did the groceries shopping, got saddled with the slowest cashier in the Western hemisphere. Ack. It's mid-afternoon, I'm tired and not in a mood for writing. And I have the new Bones epi on my HD. Noooooo..... Also, it's Boardgaming Thursday. The question is, how much can I possibly get done between now and dinner time? And why, oh, why does ALDI no longer sell caffeinated soft drinks? What I wouldn't give for a crate full of Mountain Dew right now...

Date: 2005-11-03 03:45 pm (UTC)There were a few drop outs, but in all honesty I can't say I mind. The motivated ones are still there. :-)
We talked about the integrity of the artist and about writing for an audience (or not). I'm really pleased with the poems they've written. And I think they enjoyed the discussions we had.
Tomorrow's course is more difficult. The students are less advanced and I doubt that they have as much experience with poetic forms and styles... I hope I can motivate and inspire them.
