I have had a cold for days, and I'm kinda tapped out, but happy. A lot of boardgaming went on in our house these past few days. The new Catan game Elasund is good, but St. Petersburg is even better. Both games are highly recommended.
Since we can't leave our kids alone on New Year's Eve, we decided to make the best of it. We will play board-games all day tomorrow, from 3 pm onwards until 3 at night. We've invited a handful of friends, and the kids will play too.
Tina received money and gift vouchers for Christmas and her 9th birthday, so yesterday our friend L. and I took both kids into the city to shop for clothes and DVDs. Tina bought herself a beautiful beige coat (that looks very Age of Aquarius), a cream-colored skirt with a burgundy flowery pattern, and a black jacket. She took her time to decide. At first she picked a more gaudy skirt, but she compared prices, discussed sizes with me, and was very reasonable. In short, when we walked out with her lovely things, I nearly exploded with pride. She looks absolutely beautiful in her new outfit, and now she's very proud of herself. An old lady complimented her in the street on her fine coat. Tina feels very grown up and competent now. *beams*
Vicky also had a bit of money to spend. She chose a my-little-pony outfit, i.e. a vest and underpants, and socks (to go with the my-little-pony pjs she got for Christmas). She also bought a stunningly ugly necklace and a black bandana. She insists on wearing that outfit non-stop. Tomorrow I'll probably have to peel that underwear off by force. ;-)
