estepheia: (Forget Me Not)

According to a post at [profile] stop_plagiarism, [profile] remember_nomore is stealing other people's works again. This time the case seems to revolve around icons. I don't want to be the one to start rumours, so I'm not saying it's true or really a new case, but I shall definitely watch the anit-plagiarism community for further updates on the matter.
Some of you may remember the case from several years ago.

What else is new? I just watched the pilot episode of the new series Reaper -  and enjoyed it! The main hero is not really my cup of tea, but it's fun to see Twin Peaks's Laura Palmer's Dad again. He's the perfectly cast as the Devil. The premise is fun, some of the comedy is quite hilarious. Will definitely give it a chance.

Also watched the new House. Good episode. Won't go into details since I don't want to spoil anyone.

I guess I should be working on my Ethan-fic, but I'm too tired. Work was tough these past two days. I never really get any writing done from Tuesday and Thursday. Also, I have a post-NFA Spike/Lindsey WIP on my HD that I can't get out of my head. Bad timing. Maybe it's just because my mind is busy exploring different resurrection/retconning scenarios. It's odd, once I've resurrected a character in a fic, from then on he or she is alive in the back of my head. Makes it easier to write him/her again. Maybe I should resurrect Anya. I have a few Let's Talk About Sex scenes that I  always meant to turn into a decent story, but  as long as Anya is dead I can't write her, if you know what I mean.

Anyway, I shall try to write more Ethan/Giles on Friday. I know what will happen next, I just need to write it down - but at a time when I'm  not practically dozing off in front of the screen.
Right, time to go to bed. Wake-up time is in 6 hours. Toodles.

Hi! *waves* May I reccomend your fic "Let's Talk About Sex" at [livejournal.com profile] the_magic_box? It is such a good S/X/Anya fic, and there aren't many of them around....

Thank you!

Sure, it's nice to know that some of my older stories are still popular.

Did you know that there are two versions? The original version of LTAS (which is complete) and one unfinished rewrite.

Unfortunately, my site got hacked and since then I haven't been able to make it look good, but the new version is archived there, and a link to the old version should also be listed there. :-)

Ohmigod! I remember those cases. In fact, I specifically did not join several communities in which I had an interest because she was involved with them. How sad. Especially in the fandom community, because we get no payment from our efforts other than the satisfaction we get from making a reader think, feel, or thrill to a well-turned phrase or an exciting plot or a guh! moment of emotion or passion.

*loving the Giles/Ethan, but also thrilled about the possibility of a Spike/Lindsey fic from you*

Yeah, I checked out the wronged party's LJ, and the case sounds legitimate. I won't investigate, I'm glad that other people are taking the time to do so, but I'll definitely watch the whole affair from the distance. And once the evidence is conclusive, well, I may become a little vocal about the whole thing.

Because like you say, we work hard on our stories (or icons, bannders, vids, etc), and should get the full credit for them.

As for the Spike/Lindsey fic, um, it's not really very cheerful... And it really has to wait, because G/E takes precedence. Not sure why the S/L suddenly bounces up and down, waving at me that it wants to be written. Stupid bunny. :-)

Well, after all the crap that came down the pike at me this summer, I'm not very cheerful at the moment. *g* I'm just thrilled to see new fics about my favorite characters who are not dead in my world.

Lindsey is not dead. Ethan is not dead. Snape is not dead. La la la.

*waiting patiently (for both Gethan and Splindsey)*

Nods. He's the best thing about the show, besides Tyler Labine as "Sock" the loyal sidekick.

Yeah, Sock is great. But if they only use him as comic relief I expect the show will quickly become boring. With these mystery formats I'm never sure whether they will succeed in keeping me hooked. Oh well, we'll see... :-)

Ooooh, that sounds interesting. :) *pulls up chair and waits*

I'm definitely going to be watching this one. Funny, but I just went back and found the post where I talked about what she did. There was an exchange between you and [livejournal.com profile] quinara discussing the idea of a community to deal with things like this.

Yeah, it's weird how some things/ideas grow. Would you believe that the first ficathon was born like that? I think Marguerite had the idea.

That's the strength of forums such as LJ; because of the threaded nature of posts, conversations can wander happily along their own path and some damn good ideas come of it.
