It must be love...

Got up at 4.30 a.m. because hubby had to go on a business trip. Decided to drink a cup of coffee with him. Planned on going back to bed afterwards, but couldn't go back to sleep. I've been on my feet since then, because of Viktoria's (late) birthday party. My kids get to decide what kind of party they want. This year, Viktoria wanted sleep-over, with a big raclette dinner, games, disco and a movie (Free Willy).
I've been cleaning and cooking and shopping all day. Luckily Tina has been extremely helpful.
Of course, the invited girls did not really enjoy the raclette. Oh well, plenty of leftovers for tomorrow. Next year we'll have mini pizzas. MUCH cheaper and less work.
Right now, the four girls are playing PS2 Singstar. Hee. I love my birthday prezzie. And I so need more song DVDs. :-)
Anyway, it's bed time to the little girls, otherwise I'll fall asleep on my feet. Hubby came back from his trip totally exhausted, but he did help with the dishes. I hope the girls will go to sleep SOON.

Date: 2007-09-28 10:07 pm (UTC)You can make all sorts of delicious combinations, for instance melting gorgonzola on slices of pear is great. We usually use gouda, mozarella, and cheddar. On the grill we fry diced rumpsteak, lamb fillet, chicken breast, little sausages, slices of courgettes, mushrooms, pork fillet, bacon, etc.
I make 4-5 dips like e.g. banana curry, cranberry-horseraddish, egg-garlic, sweet cranberry chili. I serve both French bread and boiled potatoes.
Mr. E likes potatoes with melted cheese best, but he'll also fill up his little pan with stuff like pineapple chunks or tomatoe slices and then melt the cheese on top. Plus he eats bread with dips.
I eat more meat, more bread, less potatoes, and I pour the cheese on my grilled meat. Yum.
It's a bit like a fondue and a cheese fondue in one. the children LOVE it.
The dip recipes have been in the family for 35 years!
And thank you, I'll pass your greetings on.
She was really pleased: her guests bought her new clothes for her build-a-bear teddies. :-)

Date: 2007-09-28 09:16 pm (UTC)How old is Viktoria? I can remember me and S just deciding we couldn't stay awake any longer and going to bed and leaving them to it, but I can't remember how old M was then.

Well, I just spent half an hour playing Singstar, so I guess I shouldn't complain.
Time for me to go to bed. *yawn*
See ya!
