Still watching Buffy with the kids. Who laugh (and love) in all the right places. We just watched Tabula Rasa. *sigh* I loved that episode when it first aired - and it's still one of my favourites. Funny, sad, clever... It's amazing how Spike's the only one who has no problem with who he is, once the memories return...
Excellent acting by Sarah Michelle Gellar. I like her a lot more now... I cannot imagine any other actress in that role - and to be frank, I don't want any reboot movies. I loved the Star Trek reboot and I have no problem with various Batman incarnations, but I never want to see another Buffy or another Spike. Or - god forbid - Mr. Twilight as Angel. *vomit*
Just saying. :-)
BTW, is there such a thing as the best Tabula-Rasa-verse story ever? Recs?
I always meant to write a story set in that verse, but somehow I never came across the right plot bunny. Plus, I was never able to decide if I should make it slashy or not. (Leaning towards "not" right now....)

I loved Season 6 - even though it turned dark in the end. And there were fun moments...
I also loved Life Serial. Buffy stepping on Giles's glasses - priceless!

I'm also a fan of Tabula Rasa, and of fics set in that world (Randy/Joan fics). I'm writing one right now, but it's not going all that well ATM, so I doubt it's going to end up being reccable. :) I can remember reading a dark, future fic in which Buffy has remained "Joan" for some reason years ago. It was excellent, but really more about Buffy not wanting to go back to her real life. Unfortunately, I suck at remembering titles and authors, especially when the fics are short. I'd love to rec a couple of short ones I've read, but it was a long time ago and I remember nothing except that I really liked them. If anything comes to me, I'll come back and edit the comment. :)

ETA: Ah, people with more on the ball. Those titles are all familiar, so I'm guessing they are for some of the ones I'm thinking about.

I'm sorry, if you're stuck. I know the feeling.
Is it long? Maybe I could take a look at it?
I am fully "booked" tomorrow - long day at work and the department xmas party afterwards, but after that....

Oh, thanks. That's very kind of you. Not stuck, though, so much as just not feeling it and not happy with how it's going. I had a vision, but I don't know if I'm getting there. I did write a lot on it today, but still not happy with it. I'll do some rereading tomorrow and see where it needs to be trashed/improved/added to - whatever. :)

I haven't read it in freaking years and can't even recall most of it - in fact, I don't think I've ever re-read it because it was such an emotionally draining experience (and when I was still a fandom newbie to boot) - but Annie SJ's "The Ballad of Randy and Joan".

Right, I came across that title before, but I don't think I ever got round to reading it. So, thank you so much for reminding me! Yay!

You need a link? Laura has it archived at All About Spike. Just, you know, be warned, have tissues nearby, I remember ending up literally sobbing.

It's sad? Oh no, I can't handle sad at the moment....
But I'll save it for a sunny day, when even sad stuff can't faze me...

Ah - that's the one I was thinking of! Can't believe I forgot that title. It's really good, although intense.

I only skimmed the comments to make sure it hadn't been recced yet, otherwise I might have had replied to you directly. :) And yeah, I don't remember much of it, but it sure made an impact back then.

Yup, all those stories should hit the spot.
I just wish I had more time to myself - for reading and writing. *sigh*

I'm keeping my fingers crossed for your fic.
