Gratuitous whine

Still in a foul mood. Unable to write. Too many WIPs, I think:
Perdition, Will (Spike/Willow flashfic), Flight of Fancy, Sifting Through the Wreckage, 2x Sixty Minutes (1x fluff, 1x sequel), Flashfic-a-thon story. And I have to write an original fiction till the end of the month.
Plus Marcee has asked me to get started on the next chapter of Things Present - Things Past. She's too busy to write her scene.
Daughter number 2 is constantly naughty, never does what she's told. Husband is in a bad mood. I hate Saturdays.

To WIP or not to WIP...
Date: 2003-04-12 12:23 pm (UTC)How many WIPs do you have?
I'm just so annoyed because I was in a good writing zone, feeling cheerful, hence the Andrew sillyfic, then RL gave me a solid thwack! and now I can't get back into that mood to finish the fic. *Sigh*
Maybe I should start a new darkfic. That's usually therapeutic. ;-)
Not that I need another WIP...

*slightly hysterical laughter*
Um, let's see.
Arc Two of "Tea and Biscuits" co-written with
Stories One and Two (yes, being consecutively written, because we are somewhat insane) of a Cordy/Doyle/Angel threesome series co-written with
"Take This Longing" (finished 5 out of 15 chapters) co-written with
Two stories being co-written with
Still in the plotting stages of a Spike/Wes with
Haven't even reached the plotting stages of a Spike/Angel with
That's the co-written stuff. Individually, I've got an OC series that I haven't written anything on since October, the Trequel which is I think about 21K words at present but I haven't written a word of it in some time, my flashfic-athon story which is mostly finished but needs serious polishing, a Wes/Doyle fic that was going to be my entry in the WesSlash contest but which I don't think is going to get written in time, and a Five Things That Aren't True about Wesley that I've only written one section of. Of course, some of these aren't technically WIPs as far as other people are concerned, because I haven't actually posted any of them anywhere.
So the best answer might be: too many. LOL

Date: 2003-04-12 02:23 pm (UTC)I look forward to your co-production with
I read your Xander/Angerl secret slasha and really liked the flow and rhythm of the piece. Lovely language, good economic depiction of emotion. I am now determined to read your other stuff.
Like most authors I whine if people read some of my stories and avoid others because they don't like the pairings, but I'm guilty of the same thing. I never sought out Angel/Wes stories (even though I wrote one), maybe because I feel like Wes is either Mr. Right for Lilah or for Spike. But I suppose I will have to mend my ways. :-D
I want to read "Take that Longing" when it's finished.
I also plan on reading "Tea and Bicuits" - I heard it's good.
I've only co-written with Marcee so far. But Ladycat and I beta each other's stuff and there are instances in which the betaing borders on co-writing.
Good luck with your WIPs.
Re: To WIP or not to WIP...
Date: 2003-04-12 04:20 pm (UTC)Yes, I'm guilty of this, too. I'd actually read almost no Angel/Xander until I was assigned that Secret Slasha pairing, and since then I've read some very good stuff in that pairing. For the most part, though, I'm pretty widely pairing-friendly. If it's good, I'll read it.
Don't feel like you have to read my stuff just because I'm commenting on your LJ! I'd be delighted if you liked any of it, but you shouldn't feel obligated. :-)
Good luck on your WIPs, too. I will be good and not beg you to focus on the one series I'm particularly enamored of.
