I finally did it, I put the link to Thesaurus.com into my task bar, now it's only a mouse-click away. Until today I was relying on my trusty Roget's Thesaurus, yes, an actual book. I wonder why.
Anyway, as I was merrily typing away, fiddling with Pandora Part 5, I realized that I use the word 'smooth' too much - especially in relation to skin. But I think I'm not the only one to use that word too much. So, here's what the Thesaurus offers:

Entry: smooth
Function: adjective
Definition: level
Synonyms: bland, continuous, creamy, easy, effortless, equable, even, flat, flowing, fluent, fluid, flush, frictionless, gentle, glassy, glossy, hairless, horizontal, invariable, lustrous, mild, mirrorlike, monotonous, peaceful, plain, plane, polished, quiet, regular, rhythmic, rippleless, serene, shaven, shiny, silky, sleek, soft, soothing, stable, steady, still, suant, tranquil, unbroken, undeviating, undisturbed, uneventful, uniform, uninterrupted, unruffled, untroubled, unvarying, unwrinkled, velvety
Concept: texture (smooth)

Has anyone ever seen 'suant' used? I know I haven't, but I do like the sound and the look of the word.

I've seen 'sleek' and 'velvety'and 'lustrous' (which almost makes me giggle).

I use dictionary.com, but my own (book) Thesausus falls short of this. You've inspired me.

Does that mean I've just heaped some good karma on my shoulders?

I must admit, I was quite surprised how good that Thesaurus is and seriously wondered why I never used it before.

Thanks to Anna, I finally read these. Mmmmmmm.

I'd say all those synonyms have possibilities, with the exception of the first. How about, you keep writing S/X until you've managed to work in at least one of each? And I'll keep reading and appreciating and savoring...

Well, I can try... rest assured I have every intention of continuing to write S/X. I have the sinking feeling that they are my OTP. *Sigh*
Thanks for your kind words regarding the Pandora-stories. :-)

Hmm... "As he lovingly stroked her frictionless, uneventful skin. . ."

I like it!
