Murder Mystery Dinner
Feb. 20th, 2005 12:48 amI spent hours cleaning today. I feel quite virtuous. Afterwards I went into the city and bought two pairs of shoes (my old shoes literally expired in the shoe shop, the last lace snapped, and the sole broke on my way there). I bought men's shoes, maybe they will be more comfortable than the last shoes I bought. Buying shoes is total horror for me, I hate shoes. Usually I own one pair and some Birkenstocks. That's it. Buying two pairs on one day (in one year) is extremely unusual for me. I also bought a few cheap tops and black pants. Our creative writing club has a birthday party reading next week, so I want to look respectable.
I was able to wear my new outfit tonight, for the Murder Mystery Dinner hubby and I had been invited to. Some of you may recall that friends bought the tickets for us as a joint Christmas and Birthday prezzie. We had a marvellous 4 course meal (Italian Antipasti, homemade fresh tortellini, roastbeef with porcini, potatoes, and broccoli, and a yummie ice cream thingie with pistachios and raspberry sauce - absolutely delightful), while a handful of actors enacted a crime play around us. We talked to the suspects and asked them questions, we investigated clues, rushed out to see the victim's body... in short, we had a great time. We didn't win, but we came pretty close to uncovering the culprit.
Also, yours truly had her eyes peeled to one of the actors who was really quite yummie. Eye candy, yay. I got several very cute smiles from him too, I think he was amused but in a charming way. So, we had a fabulous evening.
