In case anyone is wondering whether I'm still among the living: Yup, I am. *waves*
Am I still writing? Yes, occasionally. Not fanfic, though. Also, mostly in German.
How do I waste my time these days? Hubby and I play lord of the rings online. Sometimes I play Pokemon with the girls (now 10 and 13).
Our entire family is still spending a lot of time on our Irish Dance hobby.
Hubby and I have more or less given up on TV. We're watching the new Doctor episodes, and we've started watching Buffy S4 with the girls. Other than that we have no clue which new series are worth watching. I miss Buffy. I miss Firefly. I miss fandom. I miss you guys. *sigh*
It's strangely reassuring to know that you guys are still out there. *waves*

I am usually too busy to think about LJ, but when I sit down to watch Buffy with the girls, it's always with fond memories of my fandom pals.
And with a tiny stab of guilt because of all those abandoned fanfic WIPs...

*sigh*

My paid LJ account expired, so I only have a handful of icons left - and not a single Spike one. *grumbles*
Will have to kick one of the others out ^^

::hugs:: So good to hear from you, and to know you're doing well, the girls are well, the hubby is well.

There are some good series about in the last couple of years: Deadwood, The Wire, Treme, Bones -- if you're inclined toward the TV one night, try 'em out. If not, not a problem.

Oh hi,
*hugs back*
thanks for the recs. May give them a try. Maybe one of our RL friends can lend me the last two Supernatural seasons, those might be fun....

We watched "Lost in Austen" recently - that was hilarious. Alas, only 4 parts....

It's nice to see you pop up! I was just wondering yesterday how you were doing and was thinking with nostalgia back to the Buffy days around here. *hugs*

oh yeah, I know all about the Buffy days nostalgia. ;)
We're watching about 3-5 epis per week with the kids. S4 rocks so much! The kids LOVE the show.
With so much Buffy and Spike around I feel like I've lost a part of myself when fandom crumbled and when I drifted away. *sigh*

However, all the replies to this thread gave me a warm glow inside.
*hugs back*
See, we're still kind of connected. :-)

Hi. I'm pretty much off the grid myself, with no real fandom to inspire me (well, maybe Mad Men, and Breaking Bad, but nothing I'd want to write).

Keep in touch.

Hi Mike, I don't even know Mad Men or Breaking Bad. Away from LJ I lose touch with all the new show out there.

I watched Supernatural for a while but lost my enthusiasm round about S3, never got into True Blood, never got round to watching the 2nd season of Dollhouse...

The only thing I still watch is Doctor Who. *sigh*

I miss Buffy. I miss Firefly even more. And I'm still a bit sad about Terminator SCC.

I'm too critical, I guess. We went to the cinema last night to see Prince of Persia... ho boy, that movie sucked!

The only good movie that I've seen recently is this 3D animation movie with dragons, not sure what the English title is. That was awesome! Avatar was fun - not brilliant but fun and eye candy. But most movies are just disappointing befcause obviously studio bosses think movie goers are a bunch of morons... *sigh*

Anyway, it's great that you happened to be around when I wrote my nostalgia post. I often think about my few days in Florida...

Hi dear,
I never got into True Blood. Glee I never heard of. I guess I ought to search for the pilot. Thanks for the tip.

I have your postcard above my head with other cards from LJ people so I think of you everyday.

I have kept all postcards from my fandom pals as well, along with my James Marsters autographs :-) *sigh*
Out of sight, though, since our present residence is much smaller than the house we used to live in.

Unfortunately I lost all my fandom addresses and contact infos recently when my little pocket PC breathed its last....

Anyway, it's wonderful to hear from you. We had a great time together on LJ. *hug*

Oh hi! We just watched A New Man with the girls. They don't "get" Ethan, I'm afraid. But at least they adore Spike. :-)

I miss the old fandom days, when nothing was more important in the whole wide world than getting a new fanfic chapter out. :-)

I'm mostly writing things other than fanfic these days: I just had an anthology come out with one of my stories in it (SF romance), then I had a non-fiction piece accepted for a magazine today, and also wrote 450 words extra for the novella I'm reworking yet again (SF with romantic elements).

I also need to start doing more research for the next story (pretty much a straight forward murder mystery with maybe a hint or two of romance).

It's odd. I seem to have been away for ages - but you guys still use the same old icons. That is strangely reassuring.

Do you sometimes feel like you're just waiting for the right show and then everything will be as it was?

Anyway, it's great to see that you are still around!!!

Heh. Yes. I miss the early 2000s, when fandom was so vibrant, and every day I could find brilliant new meta and fanfic. I think it was just a unique period of time, though, a confluence of brilliant programming and brilliant women coming together. But oh my God, it was exciting while it lasted, and I can honestly say the experience changed my life.

I'm happy to hear that you have continued to write. You are so talented.
