Fasting

To all those who were concerned about my plan to stop eating for a week. Thanks, but don't worry. Weight loss may occur but it's secondary to the whole concept of fasting to purify the whole system. I consider it akin to hitting the reset switch. Hopefully it will break up a few bad eating habits. For example I've gotten used to putting a lot of sugar into my coffee and tea - hopefully not having any sugar for a week will reset that habit. I don't like artificial sweeteners, they all have a foul aftertaste (at least the ones I've tried), but if I can cut down my daily sugar intake by half it should already make a difference.

We read a book on fasting, so we're careful. We are taking enough minrals, and we drink a lot of healthy stuff, a bit of juice, some vegetable broth, herbal teas. That's not gonna kill us.

I'm already mentally going through my shopping list and delegating regularly eaten stuff like salami into the 'may buy it occasionally' column. We already drink lo-fat milk (unfortunately the lowest we can get here is 1,5% fat).

I have a good book that lists fat content of various food types. That's useful when trying to determine which of two forbidden foods is the lesser evil.

So, as you can see we've given this some thought. But thanks for worrying, anyway. *smooches*
